Study in to Recycling Options for HMO & Mixed Use Properties
M P Heath Waste Consultancy Ltd has recently completed a study in to practical options for recycling in HMO (households of multiple occupancy) and mixed use (i.e. flats above shops) properties as part of a regeneration project.
A property survey revealed that the majority of properties in the regeneration area were terraced, and a large proportion of these were HMO or mixed use with limited access and storage space. We worked in consultation with the client and key stakeholders to identify and evaluate a range of practical options for the storage and collection of residual waste and dry recyclables from HMO and mixed use properties in the regeneration area. The recommendations contained within the final report provided practical solutions for maximising recycling and improving local environmental quality.
