Project manager and technical advisor for the joint procurement of environmental services for two neighbouring authorities.  Project delivered a 17% annual cost reduction and a doubling of the recycling rate in the first year.

Outsourcing of Environmental Services

Technical advisor for the outsourcing of environmental services by a large unitary authority using the competitive dialogue procedure.  Project delivered a 30% annual cost reduction.
Procurement of Recycling Bring Site Services
Technical advisor for the retendering of recycling bring sites services.  Project delivered an annual cost reduction of 33%.
Procurement Training Sessions
Developed and delivered procurement training sessions for WRAP.
Bulky Household Goods Services
Technical advisor for the outsourcing of bulky household goods collection, reuse and recycling services.  Project will maximise diversion from landfill and achieve significant cost savings through avoided disposal costs.

Organic Waste Processing Facilities - Procurement & Planning Guidance

Produced guidance documents relating to the procurement and planning of organic waste processing facilities.

Carbon Impact of Waste Services

Delivered a workshop for local authority officers and members on the carbon impact of waste services.
Analysis of LATS Performance
Detailed analysis to identify practical ways to maximise BMW diversion over the next 5 years.
Waste Management Site Appraisal
Worked with a Waste Disposal Authority to appraise potential waste management sites and produce a shortlist.

Commercial Waste Review

Worked with several authorities to review the performance of their commercial waste services and to identify practical ways in which they can fulfil their statutory duties whilst delivering Best Value for their residents.
Recycling Feasibility Study

Assessed the potential for introducing commercial waste recycling services in a tourism area.
Commercial Waste Recycling Pilot
Assessed the performance of a BREW funded pilot for commercial waste recycling.
Sale of Commercial Waste Services
Provided consultancy support during the sale of commercial waste services via a competitive tendering exercise.

Recycling in HMO & Mixed Use Properties
Study in to practical options for maximising recycling performance in multiple occupancy and mixed use properties in an inner-urban area.
